Refurbished phones are becoming more and more popular in the UK. This is what the latest Uswitch‘s report shows. Why is this happening? What determines the growing popularity of refurbished phones?

Uswitch‘s report shows, that over 22 million mobile customers considers buying refurbished phone rather than the new one.  Last year over a million Brits decided to buy refurbished phone. Most of them are young – between 18 to 34-year olds. Where do their decisions come from?

One of the most frequently mentioned reasons for buying a refurbished phone is the ecology. Over a third of customers claims to be making this choice for environmental reasons. The economy is almost as often cited as another reason for such a decision. 24% of the respondents admit that they just want to save some money. According to the report, Brits can save even a £2bn while buying refurbished device. Many of the respondents admits, that the latest smarphones are too expensive.

On the other hand, 39% of Brits never consider buying a refurbished smartphone. Nevertheless, it can be seen that the refurbishment market will grow, and the opportunity to save money is one of its main driving forces.
