EE upgrades 5G network across 14 new locations!

EE has announced the next phase of its industry-leading 5G rollout, bringing enhanced superfast 5G speeds to 14 towns and cities across the UK, as well as extending its 5G coverage footprint to a further 14 UK towns. The network upgrade follows EE’s recent launch of a new range of Essentials, All Rounder and Full Works smartphone plans and will deliver high-performance connectivity for customers using the latest 5G-enabled handsets.
Enhanced 5G on the UK’s best network
EE is rolling out 5G 2100 MHz spectrum on sites that were previously used to provide 3G signals. The upgrade provides an enhanced 5G smartphone experience for customers, ensuring that they get improved indoor coverage, as well as more 5G capacity in busy areas.
The upgrades will be taking place in 14 of the UK’s biggest cities, including London, Manchester and Liverpool. The full list of locations include:

- Cardiff
- Belfast
- Newport
- Perth
- Kilmarnock
- Eastbourne
- Scunthorpe
- Chesterfield
- Wellingborough
Expanding 5G to 14 new locations
EE has also added 14 new towns and cities to its 5G network. The new locations are:
- Bradford
- Kidderminster
- Peterborough
- Bedford
- Luton
- Southampton
- Newport
- Dewsbury
- Sutton in Ashfield
- Newcastle-under-Lyme
- Hemel Hempstead
- East Kilbride
- Bridgend
- Carlisle
The move furthers EE’s position as the number one network for smartphones in the UK and follows the recent launch of new Essentials, All Rounder and Full Works pay monthly plans. With a wide range of monthly data allowances to suit all needs, customers on EE also receive access to EE’s Stay Connected Data, Data Gifting, Device Care Extras, EE’s award-winning customer service as well as new WiFi Coverage Boost – providing seamless access to over 150,000 securely encrypted BT WiFi hotspots across the UK.
