Three named fastest 5G network by Ookla
26th January 2023 By: AdamNetwork diagnostics company Ookla, better known as the operator of the web page speedtest.net and the application, wich measures the connection speed, has named Three as the fastest 5G network in the latter half of last year.
Ookla has compared around a million user-initiated 5G tests, generated from 295,713 devices, running iOS and Android, across all carriers in Q3 and Q4. Three turned out to be the best with average download speeds of 282.53 Mbps and average upload speeds of 12.92 Mbps. All of it resulted in 243.18 scored Speed Score points.
The second carrier with fastest UK’s 5G was Vodafone with a score of 124.47, and lowest step of the podium was won by EE with 111.69 points. The fourth operator closed the stake, and it was O2 with only 72.08 points.
The winner achieved the highest network download speeds in London, Birmingham and Manchester with results of around 280 Mbps. For comparison, Vodafone achieved an average of 141Mbps, EE – 124Mbps, and O2 – 99.91 Mbps.
