This year, Samsung flagships use only Qualcomm processors, in addition – modified especially for this series. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy has an increased clock speed of the main, efficient core – from the standard 3.2 to 3.36 GHz. The processors work with LPDDR5x and UFS 4.0 memories (except for the Galaxy S23 128 GB, where it is 3.1), and also support the eSIM standard. We will also find double speakers with Dolby Atmos, under-screen fingerprint readers, and the Android 13 operating system with One UI 5.1 interface. Samsung flagship housings boast metal frames, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 panels and IP68 water and dust resistance. All models are equipped with 10-watt inductive charging, but traditionally there were no chargers in the sets. All three smartphones will be available in four colors: black, cream, green and lavender.
Galaxy S23
The Samsung Galaxy S23 has a Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a diagonal of 6.11 inches, a resolution of 2340 x 1080 px and an image refresh rate of 48 to 120 Hz. The screen is also HDR10 + certified and achieves high brightness. The screen has a hole for a 12-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus, f/2.2 aperture and a focal length of 25 mm and a field of view of 80 degrees. The maximum video resolution on the front is 4K at 60 fps. The rear camera is triple, with the main 50 megapixel module, f/1.8 aperture, 23 mm focal length and 83 degree field of view. This camera has Optical Image Stabilization and Dual Pixel technology. Another rear camera takes wide-angle photos, a 12-megapixel matrix and a lens with f/2.2 aperture, 13 mm focal length and 120-degree field of view. The third module, in turn, has a 10-megapixel matrix and a telephoto lens with OIS, giving a 3x lossless zoom. These objects have an f/2.4 aperture, a focal length of 69 mm and a field of view of 36 degrees. The rear camera shoots up to 8K at 30 fps. The whole is powered by a 3900 mAh battery with 25-watt charging. The Galaxy S23 measures 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6 mm and weighs 167 g.
Galaxy S23+
The Samsung Galaxy S23+ is actually an enlarged Galaxy S23. It looks identical and has almost identical specifications, differing of course in the size of the housing, screens or batteries. Samsung Galaxy S23 + has dimensions of 157.8 x 76.2 x 7.6 mm and weighs 195 g. Its screen has similar parameters as in the base model, but reaches a diagonal of 6.6 inches. Naturally, a larger model must have a larger battery. And it has – 4700 mAh. It is worth noting that there is also a faster charging here – 45 W.
Galaxy S23 Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the only one with a more angular housing with S Pen stylus support. It also has the largest, 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 3088 x 1440 pixels and a refresh rate adjustable from 1 to 120 Hz. Power supply is provided by a 5000 mAh battery with 45-watt charging. In the case of this model, the dimensions are 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9 mm, and the weight is 233 g. In this model we find also a 12-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture, a focal length equivalent of 25 mm and a field of view of 80 degrees.
Ultra – as always – is characterized by the best rear camera in the series. It consists of the following modules:
- Main 200 megapixels, f / 1.7 with OIS, 23 mm focal length and 85 degree field of view.
- 12 megapixel wide-angle, with f/2.2 aperture, 13 mm focal length and 120 degree field of view.
- Portrait with a 10-megapixel matrix, an OIS lens with an f/2.4 aperture and a focal length of 69 mm and a field of view of 36 degrees. It gives a 3x lossless zoom
- Telescopic periscope with a resolution of 10 megapixels, f/4.9 aperture with OIS, focal length equivalent to 230 mm and a field of view of 11 degrees. Lossless zoom here reaches 10x, and digital Space Zoom 100x
